I created this video clip in homage to my all-time favorite Christmas program, mainly the scene where Linus drives the true message of the season home. The reason I made this clip has more to do with the appreciation I have for Charles Schulz’s vision than the personal beliefs that I do espouse. Still, I gotta admit that the directive “Sparky” gave the world through this special remains timeless in its simplicity.

And that city has tighter water restrictions than Wilson! Which makes me wonder if I should have declined the free H20 and just paid for unlimited glasses of iced tea instead.
Either way, I’m feeling rather guilty about my recent moment of gluttony. And I’m not talking about the extra trip I made to the buffet, either …
One of the biggest news stories in these parts has centered around country musician Randy Parton, who happens to be the less-famous brother of Dolly Parton. He got kicked out a performance at a theatre bearing his name in Roanoke Rapids recently, mainly because he was acting kinda drunk and incoherent, among other things.
The video from WRAL taken Thursday night after the no-hit wonder got the boot is kinda funny. Notice how he tends to jumble his words on more than one occasion. This sort of thing has the trappings of one of those celebrity reality shows on VH1, which might be saying something.
Speaking of no talent hacks, perhaps he might have a distant cousin out there that’s just as bad. Personally, if he were an early Simpsons character from the 90s, I’d swear he’d bear some resemblance to Troy McClure. Both a couple of has-beens and never-will-bes if there ever were any.
